The ultimate guide to collecting USMNT star Christian Pulisic rookie cards
2016-17 Panini Revolution Autographs #A-CP Christian Pulisic
The 2016-17 Panini Revolution product was released on June 14, 2017, which was only eleven days after the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League final that marks the end of the 2016-17 European soccer season. Given this, we consider this to be a 2016-17 rookie product for Christian Pulisic notwithstanding the “2017” copyright on the cards and boxes creating possible ambiguity as to whether this is a rookie product in the minds of some (we also note that this “2017” product was actually issued more than a month before the July 26-30, 2017 release of Pulisic’s Panini National Convention cards that were labeled as “2016-17” products). Christian Pulisic’s cards in the 2016-17 Panini Revolution product include a base card #31 (which has ten parallels, including the base version) and three insert cards that each also have their own parallels. These three inserts consist of an On the Rise insert, a Vortex insert, and an autograph card.
The 2016-17 Panini Revolution Autographs #A-CP Christian Pulisic insert card and its parallels are only available in hobby boxes, as the Autograph inserts were exclusive to these packs. The Autographs insert cards have a stated pull rate of 1:23 hobby packs for the base versions and all non-base parallel versions are serial numbered. As stated in our discussion of the 2016-17 Panini Revolution #31 Christian Pulisic base card, we believe there are 28,805 hobby boxes in total, which means 230,440 hobby box packs. With the stated 1:23 pull rate there are thus 10,019 base Autograph cards in total. If we make an assumption that all 32 cards have the same print run, that will give us 313 copies per player including parallels. Considering players like Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar and Maradona were included, however, we feel the Pulisic card would almost certainly have a higher print run that the 313 average. This cannot be calculated with precision; however, we compared the print runs on the parallels which show the high-end players at 1/3 the print run of the others. So that would be the basis for the minimum number of base Pulisic autographs, but we also believe the print run on the base cards would likely be at an even smaller ratio than the parallel versions so we have estimated the Pulisic card as a range with the average of 340 at the low end and a high end at 400 copies. This would place the total Pulisic print run at 415-475 compared to the average print run of 313 copies per player. Thus, the print runs and pull rates of the 2016-17 Panini Revolution Autographs #A-CP Christian Pulisic insert card would be as follows:
Version | Print Run | Print Run Basis | Boxes For One Pulisic | Cases for One Pulisic |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Base | 340-400 | Estimate | 72.01 - 84.72 | 4.50 - 5.29 |
Magna | 49 | Serial Numbered | 587.86 | 36.74 |
Disco | 25 | Serial Numbered | 1,152.20 | 72.01 |
Kaleido | 1 | Serial Numbered | 28,805.00 | 1,800.00 |
Any #A-CP | 415-475 | 60.64 - 69.41 | 3.79 - 4.34 |
