The ultimate guide to collecting USMNT star Christian Pulisic rookie cards
2016 Panini Instant Copa America Centenario #32 Christian Pulisic
The 2016 Panini Instant Copa America Centenario #32 was Christian Pulisic’s first trading card, issued on-demand via Panini Instant on June 22, 2016.
To celebrate the 100th edition of the Copa America, the tournament was held in the United States in the summer of 2016, less than three months after Christian Pulisic made his first appearance for the USMNT. In honor of the tournament, Panini made one or more different Panini Instant cards available to print on demand for a limited 24-hour period after each day’s games – the first ever Panini Instant product. In total, 39 different cards were issued over the course of the tournament, only one of which was a Christian Pulisic card.
The cards were priced at $9.99 per base card (or five base cards for $29.99). Base cards have a Red bottom border. Green parallel cards, up to 25 of each, were available for $49.99 each. Blue parallel cards, up to five of each, were available for $99.99 each, and a Black parallel card 1/1 was available for $249.99. With on-demand cards in their infancy in 2016 and many collectors unaware of the product given it was the first time Panini Instant cards were issued, most of the 39-card set had print runs below 75, though Lionel Messi cards had a print run as high as 453. Ultimately, the Christian Pulisic card had a base Red print run of 99 cards, with each card stating this on the back without providing individual serial numbers. Panini did not disclose how many non-base parallels were ordered, if any. As unbelievable as it may be today, it appears the non-base parallels suffered from very little demand. As of January 2026, the only non-base parallels ever graded by PSA or BGS from this set are Lionel Messi cards; not a single Pulisic parallel has ever been graded other than the Red base card (which has seen 21 of the 99 cards graded by PSA, seven of the 99 graded by BGS, and none graded by SGC or CGC). The card is a very tough grade, with card borders roughly cut by Panini, particularly showing on card backs and corners. Of the 28 total graded cards, only two have been graded 9.5 by BGS and only four have been graded a 10 by PSA.
