The 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention (NSCC) was held in Rosemont, Illinois from July 26-30, 2017. During the NSCC, Panini offered a Wrapper Redemption program allowing collectors and dealers to exchange wrappers for packs of multi-sport cards it produced specifically to be distributed at the NSCC. Included in these packs were a 100-card base set (which included eight soccer players, but not Christian Pulisic), a 55-card “Rookies” set (which included Christian Pulisic as the only soccer player), a 10-card “Basketball Prospects” set, a 34-card “Legends” set (which included two soccer players, but not Christian Pulisic), a 37-card “Rated Rookie Next Day Autographs” set (which contained NFL football rookies only) and a 40-card Memorabilia set (which included only two soccer players, Christian Pulisic and Lionel Messi). In addition to the Wrapper Redemption Packs, Panini offered an additional “VIP” set that was distributed in Gold Packs from its annual VIP event, which VIP set also included Christian Pulisic and contained autograph parallels and, ostensibly, relic parallels.

Thus, there were three total Christian Pulisic cards distributed at the 2017 NSCC. Each of these cards contains a 2017 copyright date on the back of the card, but the back of each card also states “2016-17 Panini – the National” on the back of the cards. The July 26-30, 2017 date of the NSCC occurred during a window in time after the conclusion of the 2016-17 Bundesliga and Champions League seasons, but before the beginning of the 2017-18 Bundesliga and Champions League seasons. National teams, meanwhile, do not have seasons and all three Pulisic 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention cards featured Pulisic in his national team (USMNT) uniform. Given the date of the 2017 NSCC and other factors, arguments can be made for and against the three 2017 NSCC Pulisic cards being rookie year cards. We include all three cards in this website in the interest of being comprehensive.

We have never opened packs of the 2017 Panini National Sports Collectors Convention VIP Gold Packs, so we are unable to make any comments regarding pull rates. We have purchased copies of the 2016-17 Panini National Convention VIP #86 Christian Pulisic card/parallels and autograph parallels through direct purchases for our personal collections, but we have never purchased a copy of any of the ostensible Relic parallels (which also are referred to as “Memorabilia” parallels, but we use the term “Relic” as that is more commonly used on platforms such as eBay for the various cards in the set). None of these VIP Relic parallels have sold on eBay in the last three years as of January 2026 and we do not recall for certain ever seeing one offered for sale, and some checklists available online exclude them. However, PSA’s population report indicates it has graded three copies of the base VIP Relic, one online checklist indicates that Pulisic had a base VIP Relic and two VIP Relic parallels, and other cards in the VIP set did have Relic parallels, so we list all three of the ostensible VIP Relic parallels below even though we are not certain all three VIP Relic parallels were actually distributed.

All copies, including the base versions, of the 2016-17 Panini National Convention VIP #86 Christian Pulisic card are listed below in three separate tables: one for the regular versions (meaning non-autographed and non-Relic versions), one for the autographed versions, and one for the Relic versions. We also discuss the graded populations of each as well.

As of January 2026, PSA has graded 115 copies of the base card (93 of which have graded a PSA 10) and 24 copies of the Silver Prizm (15 of which have graded a PSA 10). PSA also has graded 13 copies of the Cracked Ice /25 (four of which have graded a PSA 10), seven copies of the Gold Wave Prizm /15 (four of which have been graded a PSA 10), and two copies of the Green Shimmer Prizm /5 (one graded a PSA 8 and one a PSA 9). By contrast, BGS has not graded any copies of the base version, but has graded seven parallels (the Black Mojo Prizm 1/1, one Green Shimmer Prizm /5, three Gold Wave Prizm /15, and two Cracked Ice Prizm /25). SGC has graded ten copies of the base card (with three of these copies graded a 10 and two graded an SGC 9.5) but no parallels.

As of January 2026, PSA has graded seven copies of the Red Wave Autograph (three of which are graded as a PSA 10) and has graded the Black Mojo Autograph 1/1 (which graded a PSA 9). BGS also has graded seven copies of the Red Wave Autograph, all of which were graded BGS 9.5. SGC and CGC do not appear to have graded any of the autographed parallels.

As of January 2026, PSA’s population report indicates it has graded three copies of the base Relic, referred to in the population report as the “Memorabilia” version (one of which is graded as a PSA 10, and two graded as PSA 9), but none of the other relic parallels. BGS, SGC and CGC do not appear to have graded any of the Relic parallels. As discussed above, we are not certain all three of these Relic parallels were actually distributed, but they do appear on at least one online checklist.
